Mama Jennifer in GCE Board as Vice President

The Board Chairperson of ANCEFA, Mrs. Jennifer Chiwela (fondly called Mama Jennifer) is the current Vice President of the Global Campaign for Education (GCE).

Mama Jennifer: GCE Vice PresidentMama Jennifer, who recently clocked 70 years, was elected to the prestigious position following the GCE World Assembly that took place in February. She has worked in the field of education for the past 42 years. Drawing on her vast professional and development work experience from village to international levels, she has understood and appreciated deeply why education is a fundamental human right. Another African representative in the GCE BIard is Mr. Bright Appiah, a Ghanaian and currently the Executive Director of Child Rights International, an NGO operating in Ghana since 1997 and is Executive Chairman of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC).

GCE President: Camilla Croso Other members in the GCE Board include the President, Camilla Croso, a Brazilian, coordinator of the Latin American Campaign for the Right to Education (CLADE); Monique Fouilhoux, Chairperson, from Education International where she works as Deputy Secretary General; and Maria Khan, Vice Chairperson. Khan has been the Secretary General of the Asia South Pacific Bureau for Adult Education (ASPBAE) since 1995.

Bright Appiah: Board MemberOther Board members are: David Archer from Action Aid International, Rasheda Choudhur, Director of CAMPE; and Alberto Croce, board representative for Campana Argentina por el Derecho a la Educacion (CADE). The list also includes: Helle Gudmandsen, from the Danish Coalition; Elie Jouen, board member of the Global March Against Child Labour; and Assibi Napoe, Chief Regional Coordinator for Education International’s Africa Regional Office. Tom complete the list are: Refaat Sabbah, Director of the Teacher Creativity Centre in Palestine; Imad Sabi, based at Oxfam Novib’s Global Programmes in the Netherlands; and Kailash Satyarthi, founder of the Global March Against Child Labour and former President of GCE (Source: GCE Website).
